About Us It's not easy for little kids to make big changes. Let's face it--change is strange at any age. That's why we have created the CHANGE IS STRANGE series, developed to help make life's changes easier for kids and their parents.
A few years ago, my husband and I wanted to go on a trip, but we were nervous about leaving our daughter. So I decided to make her a book. A book about where we were going, how many days we would be gone and who would be taking care of her. And I decided to personalize it. I'd read that educators advise that if a child is having trouble with a transition, take them on a personal journey through the steps of the transition and set them at ease by showing a safe conclusion. The book was read to my daughter every day we were gone, and upon our return, it worked. She had adjusted without us.
I hope that CHANGE IS STRANGE enables children to turn the harsh transitions of life into exciting adventures that they will remember.
